Garden party dress for First Communion made by Punkin Patterns

Last week, my daughter took her first communion. We wanted a simple dress to go with the lavish crown of flowers she wanted and so I made a garden party dress (by Oliver + S).

She said it was like wearing a cloud. I made it three layers thick simply because the lawn was thin and I didn’t want anything under to be seen. In the end, I still made a little slip dress out of jersey knit for her to wear underneath.

She absolutely loved the flower crown.  She was very specific about which colors she wanted in it.  I made the crown with just some floral wire and floral tape. (You can see a tutorial of how to wire flowers HERE.)

Details of the dress:

I loved the embroidered lawn.  So delicate.

I was so happy with how the dress turned out and it was so easy to make. I will be making a few more of these soon!
